► TIBET MAP & MAIN DESTINATIONS

Tibet is a sparsely populated, high altitude land of adventure that few people manage to visit despite being on so many wish lists. The most commonly booked Tibet tours are short visits to Lhasa perhaps taking in the relatively nearby towns of Gyantse and Shigatse. For those with a bit more time there is the very popular road trip from Lhasa to Kathmandu, capital of Nepal. This journey along the Friendship Highway offers up some of the best of Tibet including Everest Base Camp.

For those seeking even more adventure it doesn’t come better than the trip to remote Mount Kailash in Western Tibet. For those shorter on time Namtso lake north of Lhasa makes for a 2 to 3 day jeep adventure.
