Beijing is the start or finish of both the Trans-Mongolian and Trans-Manchurian railway routes that run to Moscow. From Beijing it is also possible to access Vladivostok in Russia's Far East to take the original Trans-Siberian route to Moscow. What better way to get to or depart from China than by the epic railway journey?
Most Trans-Siberian trips spend most of their time in Russia and Mongolia but China arguably has the most to see and we are perfectly places to offer a well balance tour of all three countries.

► THE POSSIBLE TRANS-SIBERIAN ROUTES FROM CHINA
There are three Trans-Siberian routes however only the Trans-Manchurian and Trans-Mongolian routes start in Beijing. Of these two the Trans-Mongolian is by far the most popular mainly as the train passes through Mongolia which is high on most travellers wish lists.
It is possible to fly from Beijing to Vladivostok in order to take the train from their to Moscow. That route is the world's longest single rail journey and particularly popular amongst train enthusiasts.
► TRANS-SIBERIAN STOPOVERS BETWEEN BEIJING & MOSCOW
Most people avoid taking the train directly between Beijing and Moscow which is 5 days of train travel instead breaking the journey up with stopovers along the way. The most popular of these are Ulaanbaatar to give access to the beautiful Mongolian grasslands and their timeless nomadic culture and the Siberian city of Irkutsk which is the access point for stunning Lake Baikal.
Krasnoyarsk also offers nature on its doorstep whilst Ulan Ude is a fascinating blend of east and west with it's monasteries and old believer villages. Ekaterinburg, located on the Europe Asia border int he Ural mountains offers a wealth of history including the compelling story of the last days of the Romanov Dynasty.
► DON"T FORGET ST PETERSBURG!
Finally, the magnificent city of St Petersburg is now only a 4 hour journey from Moscow by high speed Sapsan train making it the perfect treat at the end of your Trans-Siberian trip or a convenient start point. St Petersburg is Russia's cultural capital with world class museums, theatres and architecture.
