The Harbin Snow & Ice Festival is a Must See!
The two main events we think are well worth being in China for are Chinese New Year and the spectacular Harbin Snow and Ice Festival. Both of these occur at the same time, namely January to early February. Chinese New Year’s main attractions is the fireworks that blanket the skies over a period of up to two weeks and particularly on the first and last days of the celebrations (dates vary from year to year).
The Harbin Snow and Ice Festival is a spectacular celebration of sculpture and all things ice held in the Russian influenced Manchurian city. Carving is taken to an extraordinary scale and the frozen Songhua river is host to a wide variety of activities ice related from snowmobiling to skating and is our pick for the most spectacular event in China – a truly unmissable holiday experience!
