Hongcun Overview
Hongcun is a small village dating back to the Song Dynasty and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The well preserved architecture of the village is the main attraction along with the layout of the streets and the wonderful crescent shaped Moon Pond. Hongcun is almost always visited in conjunction with a trip to Huangshan and provides a good balance to the scenic splendour of that mountain.

Top Attractions in Hongcun
Moon Pond is a beautiful crescent shaped pond in the centre of the village that reflects the surrounding buildings as well as providing the citizens with a meeting point. The pond also acts as part of the complex irrigation system that flows and flushes through the city. Chengzhu Hall dates to 1855 and its 28 rooms are one of the best examples of the the local architecture with the design and wood carvings. Other notable halls are Lexu Hall dating from the Ming Dynasty, Deyi Hall and the Hall of Peach Garden.
