Frequently Asked Questions About Family Tours

Will My Children Like the Food?

There is such an enormous variety of food available in China that it is almost certain there will be dishes your children will love to eat. Chinese restaurants are very child friendly and so cater for their tastes. Children also tend to be able to pick up chop stick techniques more quickly than adults! Chinese cuisine is almost always cooked fresh to order and tummy issues are consequently rare.

Is China Safe for Children?

Yes. There is no reason to worry about taking your child to China that there is any other destination in the Far East or elsewhere.

How Are Local Peoples Attitudes to Children?

Perhaps due to China’s one child policy you will find your children will be regarded (to use a local phrase) as “Little Emperors.” Children are welcome wherever you go in China and will help enormously in breaking the ice with local people who will invariably want to be photographed with them!

Are There Particular Activities for Children?

From Kite flying in Beijing’s parks to Kung Fu lessons at the Shaolin Temple there is a wide range of child friendly activities that can be incorporated into a China trip as well as plenty of family friendly options from Acrobatic shows to exciting cable card rides up to the Great Wall to haggling for shopping in the huge variety of markets where there is something for everyone.

Can You Recommend Some Child Friendly Itineraries?

Yes! Just click the “Sample Tours” button below for some itinerary ideas we can we offer. All of these can be tailored to your family’s particular requirements. The China Travel Company’s founder, Chris, brought up his daughter in China for the first 9 years of her life and is happy to discuss his experiences (almost all positive!) if you need further reassurance.
